Call of Duty dev Infinity Ward: Is a Call of Duty role-playing game in the works? Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 2 is scheduled for release in October 2022, but a job post suggests that Infinity Ward’s next project might be an open-world game.

“A new era” of Call of Duty is about, to begin with, Modern Warfare 2, Activision and Infinity Ward said. In addition to the upcoming Modern Warfare 4 and Warzone 2, the company may be working on a whole new project.

A recent job post for a narrative director at Infinity Ward’s Poland studio references an “unannounced triple-A project,” which has subsequently been removed, but was preserved by Twitter user Faizan Shaikh. While the Polish firm is relatively young, it has worked on both of the most recent Modern Warfare games with Infinity Ward, which is the primary developer of the Call of Duty games. The combination of this with Activision’s concentration on the Call of Duty franchise points to a new game in the series.

As a result, the job’s responsibilities include providing “the finest narrative and cinematic experience in an open-world RPG,” with a focus on story, characters, mythology, and world-building.

The first non-Call of Duty game Infinity Ward has worked on if this doesn’t allude to some form of Call of Duty RPG in development. We may not find out for sure for some years, though.

In terms of Modern Warfare 2, here are all of the weapons that have been disclosed thus far.
