The day before, Depp announced that he would no longer play the dark wizard Gellert Grindelwald in Fantastic Beasts. This is a Warner Bros. studio initiative, Variety reports . Johnny Depp played the main character of the franchise – Gellert Grindelwald – in the first two parts. The release of the third (already without it) is scheduled for 2021.
